The 2022 AAPI Visibility Pledge will focus on the intersections of race and gender. This year, we are centering our visibility efforts on highlighting the experiences of AAPI women and amplifying their voices.
78%
Of Asian American women have experienced hate in the past two years, according to Stop AAPI Hate.
60%
Of AAPI women are survivors of sexual or domestic assault, according to AAPI Women Lead.
Together, we are indivisible and visible.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen a staggering escalation in violence against the AAPI community, and especially against AAPI women. These deeply disturbing incidents have left many in the AAPI community fearful to go about their daily lives.
While there has been an increase over the past year, this racism and xenophobia are not new.
We all have a role to play in creating change. Join our fight and the campaign to increase AAPI visibility. Sign the pledge here.
The Pledge
“I pledge my commitment to the AAPI community, and, especially, to AAPI Women.
I will use my own platforms and voice to learn about and share the history of those in the AAPI community, celebrate AAPI culture, join AAPI heritage events, elevate AAPI leaders, denounce hate, denounce sexism, and ensure AAPI women, and the larger AAPI community, have representation.
I will do my part to stop white supremacy and racialized sexism, not only by speaking out against anti-Asian hate and gender violence but uplifting all communities including, fighting against anti-Blackness.”
